Daniel Herlemann is a microbiologist specialising in microbial ecology in the shallow waters of the Baltic Sea. He is currently focusing his research on potentially pathogenic bacteria such as Vibrio vulnificus, the spread of which is being facilitated by climate change and the associated rise in water temperatures.
