The head of administration of the IOW is responsible in particular for the following tasks:

Institute administration, including human resources, finance, third-party funding administration, purchasing, travel expenses, and operational technology
Organization of efficient administrative processes at the IOW in compliance with budgetary and human resources regulations
Participation in the development and implementation of the IOW's strategic goals
Preparing the financial section of the IOW's business plan (program budget) and monitoring ongoing budget management
Providing administrative support to the scientific departments for special tasks
Representing the interests of the IOW vis-à-vis third parties in non-scientific matters
