Dr. Sophie Kache

As a marine biogeochemist, my research focuses on the nitrogen cycle in coastal and marginal seas, with a particular interest in how nutrient dynamics shape these ecosystems.

 

Currently, I work as a PostDoc in the ANK Model Project "Moorklimaschutz an der Ostseeküste" (Moor Climate Protection on the Baltic Sea Coast), where I investigate nutrient fluxes, microbial turnover rates, and potential nutrient export in coastal peatland systems.

My work aims to improve our understanding of how these processes influence water quality and ecosystem health, contributing to sustainable coastal management and climate protection strategies.
